Dr. Sherif Boctor

Dr. Boctor obtained his veterinary degree in 1996. He then started working as a large-animal veterinarian and became very successful in different countries. He moved to Canada with his family in 2003 and started practicing as a small-animal veterinarian in the Edmonton area in 2004. Dr. Boctor enjoys solving puzzles in complicated medical cases and also enjoys doing his share of surgeries and dentistry. He has two cats that came to stay with him over the weekend until they were to be adopted, and as usual– they never left!
Dr. Boctor’s goal is simple: treat my patients as if they are my own.

Dana Madsen

Dr Madsen grew up in Edmonton and moved back after completing her veterinary degree at the W.C.V.M. in Saskatoon.

She has practiced at various clinics as a locum and is excited to join the team at Chappelle.  Her professional interests include dentistry and exotics.

Dr Madsen shares her home with her two daughters, her 3 cats (Pumpkin, Delilah and Gary) and her dog Mercury.
In her spare time Dr Madsen enjoys cooking, gardening, skiing and being a chauffeur for her daughters to their various social engagements.

Julie was born and raised in Edmonton.

She graduated from NAIT in 1992.
Her focus has always been in small animals though she has dabbled in some large animal medicine.
She loves all creatures great and small and enjoys every aspect of her job.
She currently lives outside of Stony Plain with her two lovely daughters and variety of furry friends.

Lana graduated from the Animal Health Technology Program at Fairview College in 1996.  She grew up on a farm and had a purebred herd of Gelbvieh Cattle until 2003 when her parents sold the farm and dispersed their herd.  She started in a mixed animal practice after graduation but soon decided that it was not what she wanted to specialize in.

Lana then moved into Edmonton in 1997 and has been working in companion animal medicine since.  She has also been working part time at an Emergency Clinic since January 2010.  She works there on weekends and weekday’s at Chappelle.  The experience at the emergency clinic has enhanced her skills as a Technologist and has exposed her to many different conditions that we may not see in Regular Practice.

Lana has an older cat named Squeak and a young dog named Isla, who is a Labradoodle that has a lot of energy.  She has travelled to many different countries and would like to continue to see more.

Ellysa recently graduated from NAIT’s AHT program in 2019 and is excited to be a part of this fantastic team. Ellysa has always had a passion for animals; furry, feathered, scaled… she loves them all. Ellysa’s journey to RVT started young, convincing stray cats to follow her home, watching the cattle graze on her uncle’s farm, adopting a pair of gerbils to take care of, and curling up on the couch with her cat, Pumpkin.
Later, she started working at a pet store which further made her love and appreciation for companion and exotic animals grow. While in her first year at NAIT, she started a summer student job at a small animal clinic and furthered her technical skills, working hard to become the best she can be.
Now graduated and registered, Ellysa is still learning new things every day and am continuing to grow. She has an interest in radiology, laboratory work, and geriatric medicine (Bring on the senior citizens!). At home, she has two cats (Smokey and Eevee), two budgies (Murphy and Bennie), and a brown-headed parrot (Spike).

Recently graduated from NAIT’s Animal Health Technology program in 2021 and is excited to be a part of this amazing team.  She has had an interest in animals since she was young.

Has had experience working in emergency medicine as a VMA and is excited to continue to help animals throughout their lives within a general practice.

In her free time, Cydney loves to spend time outside either fishing in the summer months or walking through the snow in the winter months.

Kelsey is currently finishing her second year of the Animal Health Technology Program at NAIT and is looking forward to becoming an RVT and seeing where that will take her.

So far she has found interest in small animal medicine, emergency care, and shelter medicine. Her partner and her have 2 rescue cats, Daisy and Gracie.

When not studying hard for her courses she enjoys yoga, photography, being outdoors, camping in the summertime, and traveling.

Sam recently graduated from NAIT’s VMA program and is excited to join the Veterinary world. Sam did two years in Psychology, has a certificate in Business Administration, Accounting Technology, Medical Terminology, and started Nursing before finally taking the journey to become a Veterinary Medical Assistant.

After working at an animal shelter, she started her own dog training business to educate and help owners understand the importance of basic obedience and creating a foundation for success in hopes to reduce the number of euthanasia and surrenders. As an alumni Cast Member for Disney, Sam enjoys her time watching the classics, singing “Let it Go” with her nieces, and spending time outdoors with her husband and rescue dog,  Archibald (Archie).
